Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you use Picture Translator. For image translation, our server first sends the selected picture to SeeAPI for an NSFW safety check, then sends images that pass to Kie to generate a translated image. We do not maintain an image gallery or translation history. Analytics services are described below.

1. Images you upload

When you select an image for image translation while signed in, our server forwards it to Kie's temporary upload service, then SeeAPI downloads the uploaded image to check it for NSFW content. If the image passes and you start translation, Kie's image-generation API uses that same uploaded image. Images flagged by SeeAPI are not sent to Kie's image-generation API. For text translation, the image is sent to DeepSeek for text recognition and translation when you request translation. When you are signed out, a recently uploaded source image is temporarily kept in this browser's IndexedDB so it can be restored if you sign in and return to the page. This local copy is removed when restored, replaced, or cleared; copies older than 30 minutes are ignored and removed the next time the page checks for a pending upload. It is not sent to our server while you are signed out. After you sign in, image translation starts its safety check automatically; text translation sends the image when you request translation. Our server processes translation requests in memory and does not write uploaded images to a server database or file store. We do not log image contents or translation text. Kie's handling of requests is governed by its own service and privacy terms; our application's storage practices do not describe the provider's retention practices.

2. Text processed while generating translated images

The image model temporarily interprets the visible text as part of generating your translated image. This intermediate text is not delivered as a separate user-facing transcript, and we do not log, archive, or build profiles from it.

3. Analytics and usage data

To understand how the site is used and to improve it, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These services collect anonymous or pseudonymous information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic region, device type, and browser. Clarity may also record anonymized interaction data (such as clicks and scrolls) to produce heatmaps and session replays; personal content is masked. Neither tool receives the images you upload or the text they contain.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on, and you can block these scripts entirely with a content blocker without affecting the translator's core functionality.

4. Cookies

We use essential session and temporary login cookies to authenticate your account. The analytics services described above may set their own cookies to distinguish unique visits. We also store your browser's preferred language and time zone in cookies so account dates can be formatted consistently on the server. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Third-party processing

SeeAPI downloads the uploaded image to check for NSFW content. If it passes, Kie's image-generation API receives the uploaded image URL, selected target language, and instructions to replace visible text while preserving the rest of the picture. Image mode uses Kie's GPT Image 2.5 Flare model and returns its generated image directly. Kie may retain uploaded files, generated images and task metadata under its own retention policies. Text-only translation sends the image to DeepSeek to recognize and translate visible text. Avoid uploading sensitive or confidential material unless you are comfortable with this third-party processing.

6. Data security

Production traffic uses HTTPS. We store your Google identity, name, email, hashed session tokens, credit activity, subscription details, and payment references in Turso to operate your account. PayPal processes payment details; we do not store card numbers. Uploaded images and translation text are not stored in our database.

7. Children's privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
